About
Rough Bounds guiding was establoshed in 2021 by me, Lizzie Buchanan. It's primary focus is to encourage folk to ramble about the wild Knoydart penisular, though I happily spend the majority of my time operating elsewhere in the Western Highlands and beyond.
The main village of Inverie was the first place I lived when I moved up to in the Scottish Highlands in 2020. A supposedly one month live-in job soon stretched on for many more, both in and out of covid lock-down. Despite being isolated, the rough bounds offered endless escapism. Its unique remoteness has repeatedly drawn me back from my current base elsewhere on the West Coast.
Simply put, I hope to continue guiding people around these rugged hills whilst sharing stories of living in a remote community.
I am a fully insured and qualified Winter Mountain Leader with outdoor first aid.
